Chicago-based DJ and producer Marea Vierge-Noire, better known as The Black Madonna, has made a name for herself with her handful of 12″ releases on Home Taping Is Killing Music, Stripped & Chewed and Home Taping labels. The Black Madonna continues to impress us with her latest offering, a two-track 12″ EP “Lady Of Sorrows” on Chicago’s Argot imprint.
The record’s a-side, “A Jealous Heart Never Rests”, is a gorgeous disco-infused track, featuring emotive strings, handclaps and an infectious bassline. This is one of the best disco tracks we’ve heard in a while. Once you’ve listened once, you’ll be hooked.
