It’s been over two years since Talaboman’s excellent “Sidereal” EP, a joint release out on Hivern Discs and Studio Barnhus. It was John Talabot and Axel Boman’s collaborative debut and marked a new sound for the pair, consisting of rich synth motifs and vivid, afro-infused drum programming. Now, the pair come back together with a debut album, titled “The Night Land”, which was recorded in Barcelona, Stockholm, and Gothenburg in sessions that produced an “absurd amount of music”.
Set to drop on March 3 via R&S records, “The Night Land” continues Talaboman’s head-first dive into the deeper reaches of their conjoined musical creativity. Our first taste from the forthcoming record comes in the form of the hazy, slow-burner “Safe Changes”, and it’s a great one.
