Melbourne’s Statue, the live percussion-based dance project erected by two drummers, Tom Gould (of World’s End Press) and Nicolaas Oogjes (of NO ZU), first caught our ear last year with their percussion-driven debut 12” “Built” of raw synths, drum machines and haunting vocals. And the duo have now returned to Cut Copy’s Cutters Records with their second offering, a new four-tracker called “Monument”. According to the label, the EP is a “reflection of the human and a testament to dancefloors both indoor and out.” Today, we’re treated to a stream of the record’s opening track “Entrance”, a ten-minute percussive dancefloor odyssey.
The “Monument” EP, which also features an expansive remix of the title track from recent ESP Institute alumni Moscoman, is out now on Cutters Records.
