Roy Of The Ravers: “Love In Black”
A top notch tune of euphoric acidic melodies.
Acid maverick Roy of the Ravers drops a new trilogy of tapes.
Nottingham producer Sam Buckley’s alter ego Roy Of The Ravers has been raving for quite some time now, constantly dropping ace tunes on his regular home Acid Waxa and Emotional Response. Recently we’ve got our hands on a much-needed vinyl pressing of his acid anthem “Emotinium”, the track that broke Roy to the wider populace back in 2015 thanks to its keen, AFX-approved sense of braindance romanticism.
Now, Roy Of The Ravers returns to Acid Waxa with a new trilogy of tapes, entitled “Green Irish Tweed”. The trilogy contains tracks off his essential debut LP “Green Irish Tweed”, released all the way back in 2011 via The Centrifuge, and captures a much gentler, melancholic and moody side to Roy, with an almost pop-like sensibility.
After releasing the first cassette version back in December, Roy Of The Ravers dropped the second part of his “Green Irish Tweed” tape trilogy. Consisting of six top quality tunes, the “Green Irish Tweed Vol 2” EP is filled with tropical percussive moments, smoked out ambient realmz, infectious synth melodies and his trademark 303 that crowned him man of the match. One of our favourite cuts from the EP is “Love In Black”, a great tune of euphoric acidic melodies. Classic Roy.
The “Green Irish Tweed Vol 2” EP is out now via Acid Waxa.
