Melbourne heat beat collective NO ZU first wowed us late last year with their percussive funk jam “Raw Vis Vision” of horns and disco whistles, a standout cut from Cut Copy’s excellent “Oceans Apart” compilation. Following the release of their ace “Medusa Music” 12”, heavily inspired by Hellenic culture, NO ZU are back in action and in fine form with their new single “Ui Yia Uia”, their debut release for Chapter Music. Filled with bombastic horns and infectious layers of percussion, this slow boogie groover is another quality example of NO ZU doing what they do best. Play it loud.
The single “Ui Yia Uia” is the first taste from NO ZU’s forthcoming new album “Afterlife”, the follow-up to 2012’s debut “Life”, which is expected to arrive early next year via Chapter Music. Pick up your copy of “Ui Yia Uia” here.
