A great release from Airtight Recordings. The label have taken four classic Larry Heard cuts from his ’95 album “Dance 2000” on Distance, and handed over the reins to four of their favourite new-skool producers to do their deed with them. The result is quite impressive. The EP, entitled “Distance Revisited”, includes Wolf+Lamb’s killer boogie edit of “Gentle Morning Sun”, Mak and Pasteman rework of “Futuristic Island Life”, Emperor Machine’s slow machine-funk rendition of “Long Short Story”, and Julio Bashmore’s amazing version of “And So I Dance”, which was featured on his Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 back in November. Play it loud!
