A Track A Day:
Josh Caffé
With the current circumstances and the weird, turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite track or an album for these isolated days, and share it with us along with a photo. A track a day keeps the bad vibes away. Stay safe.
Our ongoing “A Track A Day” series kicks off 2021 with a favourite track from London-based DJ, producer and vocalist Josh Caffé . The Night Sheen and Love Child founder shares with us Jodeci’s “Forever My Lady”, the title track off their 1991 debut album.
Josh Caffé writes: “I’ve been reconnecting with a lot of music from my childhood during these crazy months. I was a massive Jodeci fan growing up. I went to New York in the 90’s and my aunt took me to Harlem to buy their album. I came back fully transformed as DeVante after making my mum buy me timbaland boots, oversized dungarees (which I literally swam in), the works. This track is also the title of their debut album. Pioneering the 90’s RnB/New Jack Swing sound, it was produced together with Al B Sure who I also love. The song brings back so many memories, being in Harlem, dancing around the house with a ‘mic’ in my hand while singing unbelievably out of tune, going to school for non-uniform wearing pretty much every item I got from America lol.”
