Swedish electronic musician Johan Agebjörn, probably best known as the producer of Italo-Disco revivalists Sally Shapiro, has a new solo album on the way called “Notes”. Set for release on February 10th on Paper Bag Records, the 12-track record has been described as a “dreamy, melancholic and mostly instrumental collection of songs.” The starting point for “Notes” was the electric piano sound of the Casio MT52, a cheap keyboard from the early ’80s. Furthermore, the album is said to feature collaborations with Sally Shapiro, Young Galaxy, Loney Dear and Brain Machine.
Our first taste of Johan Agebjörn’s upcoming effort comes in the form of “The Right To Play”, a beauty of a track, which comes complete with a fine remix from Swedish synth-pop duo Korallreven. The “The Right To Play” single is out now digitally on Paper Bag Records. Give both tracks a spin above, and get your copy here.
