Great news! London producer Jamie xx has shared the video for his brilliant new single “Loud Places”, featuring his fellow The xx bandmate Romy Madley Croft, and we’re so excited. The track, which uses a sample of Idris Muhammad’s 1977 disco classic “Could Heaven Ever Be Like This”, is taken from his upcoming debut solo album, called “In Colour”, set to drop on June 1 via Young Turks. The 11-track record also features collaborations with the xx’s Oliver Sim, Four Tet, Young Thug, and Popcaan.
“We grew up skateboarding together, when I was thinking of what the video for ‘Loud Places’ should be, I kept coming back to the idea of Romy and I skating in London, visiting the places we used to go to. It’s a part of our friendship not many people really know about and it’s something I wanted to share,” says Jamie xx.
