Check out the Shynola-directed surreal video for Hot Chip’s new single “Need You Now”, which uses a sample from Sinnamon’s 1983 classic “I Need You Now”. The track will appear on the band’s forthcoming sixth album “Why Make Sense?”, their first since 2012’s “In Our Heads”. The video sees Alexis Taylor facing the aftermath of a breakup and battling with himself. “The idea for the video wholly came from our reaction to the song. What was intended to be a piece of thrifty filmmaking ended up being a mind-melting shoot – if you can imagine shooting multiple versions of reality, but completely out of chronology, plus in the pissing rain and wind,” say Shynola.
The album “Why Make Sense?” drops in May 18th via Domino. Pre-order it here.
