Hard Feelings: “Dangerous” Video
Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and Amy Douglas return with their superb new single as Hard Feelings.
Back in May, Hard Feelings, the new collaborative project between Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard and New York City’s singer/ songwriting powerhouse Amy Douglas, brought you their debut single “Holding On Too Long”, an epic disco banger. Today, the duo return with their new single “Dangerous”, the second single off their upcoming self-titled debut album, set to drop on 5th November via Domino. The new single, a low-slung tune with an empowering, driving beat, designed for dancing, arrives with a video directed by Katie Paul.
In Amy’s own words, “‘Dangerous’ is aptly named; slinky, sexy and drenched in hip-hop goodness. Of all of the tracks on this LP, this is one where Joe and I worked backwards, usually our mode d’emploi is that I write melody and lyrics to his incredible productions. Here is an old resurrected song of mine that I brought into the mix and Joe’s incredible bass heavy, dag nasty production makes the whole song anew! It also showed Joe and I that there really is absolutely no method by which we can’t seemingly and quickly come up with these bangers. We write by telepathy!”
Hard Feelings’ debut LP is an opera of sad bangers. “The album is a disco odyssey where Amy Douglas and I were able to express our love for all forms of house and disco. Amy and I clicked immediately as writing partners and it almost seemed like she could read my mind in terms of her songwriting when combined with the music I had made. It was such an effortless pleasure to make music with her,” says Joe Goddard.
