Here’s some great news. Holy Ghost!, the Brooklyn-based dance duo of Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser, are gearing up for the release of a new remix album called “Work For Hire”, a stellar compilation of the pair’s favorite remixes over the course of the last eight years. The album, a scrapbook of their work and time together, features standout Holy Ghost! remixes for MGMT, Cut Copy, Moby, Phoenix, LCD Soundsystem, Midnight Magic, RAC and many more. It also includes two brand-new remixes for Hanni El Khatib and José González, plus an unreleased Balearic dub remix of Katy Perry’s “Unconditionally”.
Holy Ghost! will self-release the album “Work For Hire” on May 5th, but before then, we’re treated to a stream of their funky disco remix of Hanni El Khatib’s “Two Brothers”, taken from his recent album “Moonlight”. “We recorded it at our studio in Brooklyn and centered it around a chugging clav, stomping live drums, and a syncopated horn line played by our friend Jonathan Powell,” they say.
