Hailing from Sydney, Black Vanilla is an up-and-coming dance trio consisting of Marcus Whale, one half of electronic duo Collarbones, Lavurn Lee, also known for his solo projects Guerre and Cassius Select, and Jarred Beeler, aka DJ Plead. A handful of tasty remixes, a free-to-download “Black On Black On Black” mixtape, and lots of sweaty parties later, these young guys are getting ready to bring some serious dancefloor heat with their upcoming new EP, entitled “Cloaks”, their debut release on Modular’s sub-label Club Mod.
Before it drops next month, here’s the record’s lead single “Throw It Down”, an addictive slice of garage-infused house, which finds Black Vanilla deliver their strongest track to date. The five-track “Cloaks” EP of “Boot-rattling deconstructed garage productions with dual vocal chemistry” will arrive on November 21 on Club Mod.
