Exciting news! Baio, the solo project of Vampire Weekend’s bassist Chris Baio, will drop his highly anticipated full-length debut album, entitled “The Names”, on September 18th via Glassnote Records. The nine-track album, which follows his solid EPs “Sunburn” (Greco-Roman), “Mira” (Future Classic) and “On&On&On&On”/”Missive” (Club Mod), is said to contain “Bowie and Ferry-influenced pop songs and dumbsmart arena techno.” The record takes its title from Don DeLillo’s 1982 novel of the same name.
Now, we’re treated to a stream of the album’s opening track “Brainwash Yyrr Face” and it’s a great one. It also features Baio’s own vocals. Give the track a spin above, and keep your eyes peeled for the record’s first single called “Sister Of Pearl”, which will drop next month.
You can pre-order the album here.
