Last year, Melbourne-based producers Luke Neher and Sam Gill, who also work together as Naysayer & Gilsun, introduced their new project Ara Koufax with the nine-minute epic tune “Brenda”. The track was featured on Cut Copy’s Cutters Records excellent “Oceans Apart” compilation, a record featuring the best of Melbourne’s current live artists. Following the release of their self-titled debut EP on Downtime, Ara Koufax returns to Cutters Records with their new “Adult Concepts” EP, a two-track offering that showcases the pair’s constantly evolving sound.
Originally written as an introduction to Ara Koufax’s live show, the record’s title track is a perfect, driving piece of house music full of warm melodies. Blast it above. The “Adult Concepts” EP, a snapshot of what can be expected of Ara Koufax in 2016, is out now digitally on Cutters Records. It comes backed with b-side “Makers”. Buy it here.
