Alex Frankel: “Still Got It”

Holy Ghost!’s Alex Frankel debuts on Ed Banger Records with a summery disco jam.

After a 10 years relationship with legendary DFA, and even a quick love affair with West End Records, Holy Ghost!’s frontman Alex Frankel is flying solo once again with his gorgeous new single “Still Got It”, which marks his debut release on Ed Banger Records and its new imprint Casual. The track marks Alex Frankel’s first solo material since 2016’s “Negative Space” EP, a collection of four candy-coated, disco pop-funk jams.

Featuring the East Coast Inspirational Singers, “Still Got It” is an uplifting summery jam clamoring for the time when clubs can re-open. A pure New York disco track, filled with energy beat drums, catchy vocoder and hands-in-the-air vocals. French funkateer Breakbot is joining the dance, providing two club remixes, “La Fiesta” and “Club des Vedettes”. Choices is delivering a remix full of pianos and hand claps for the fans of Kool & the Gang.

According to the label: “Nightclubs are closed for a year now. The music we do, the records we play, the artists we love are linked to this club culture. When Alex Frankel sent us his song ‘Still Got It’, a track clamoring for the time when clubs can re-open, an anthem for those who want to party again! We knew we’ll have to release this EP.”
