A Track A Day: Trent
For LAGASTA’s ongoing series, we asked our friends to choose a favourite track or an album for these weird times, and share it with us along with a photo. A track a day keeps the bad vibes away. Today we welcome our beloved Berlin-based Italian DJ and producer Trent, who co-created the party series and label “Oscillator” with fellow Italians Dama and Budino. Alongside resident and cosmic pioneer Beppe Loda, they curated one of Berlin’s remarkable events for obscure italo, disco and electro. A longtime fixture of the infamous playground party Cocktail d’Amore, Trent collaborates with Juan Ramos under the shared byname Greenvision, releasing together on Cocktail d’Amore, ESP Institute and Ene Tokyo. Trent shares with us one of his favourite records, the 1983 classic futuristic instrumental LP “Echoes” by synth maestro Wally Badarou. Essential from start to finish.
In his own words: “It’s the album that allowed me open my mind more than ever, every track is a little gem and is it’s own world to discover. As a producer this album made me think a lot: how did Wally produce these tracks, what he was thinking when he was doing so, which emotions he felt during the process…It’s sounds like a soundtrack for many people but for me it’s a story book – every track is a chapter in itself and when listened in the wrong sequence the story loses context. I have listened to the record a thousand times on a thousand different occasion, and it always sounds so fresh and on point. I simply love the balearic sound of Wally”.
