A Track A Day: Permanent Vacation
With the current circumstances and the weird, turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite track or an album for these isolated days, and share it with us along with a photo. A track a day keeps the bad vibes away. Stay safe.
Today we welcome Munich’s finest Permanent Vacation, one of our favorite labels, run by Tom Bioly and Benjamin Fröhlich. The label’s founders share with us one of their favourite records, LCD Soundsystem’s 2005 self-titled LP on DFA Records, an absolute classic.
In Tom Bioly and Benjamin Fröhlich’s own words: “We chose LCD Soundsystem’s self-titled debut album, because it’s an absolute classic and LCD and DFA in general were a big influence for us around the time we founded Permanent Vacation. But we also have very fond memories of visiting an LCD Soundsystem concert in L.A. back in 2009 at the Hollywood Bowl. In cold pandemic times, it is nice to go back to this warm Californian night, when we enjoyed the music and shared emotions with thousands of people.”
