A Track A Day: Longhair
With the current circumstances and the turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite track or an album for these weird days, and share it with us along with a photo. A track a day keeps the bad vibes away.
Next in line on our “A Track A Day” series is Berlin-based DJ and producer Marko Pelaic, aka Longhair, who has been on fire lately with quality releases on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Love On The Rocks and Bordello A Parigi. He was also kind enough to contribute a gorgeous rework of “Jambo” to LAGASTA’s “Late Summer” compilation Vol. 10 [Part I]. Longhair shares with us one of his favourite records, Lifetones’ 1983 LP “For A Reason”.
In his own words: “Lifetones’ ‘For A Reason’ is definitely one of my favourite albums. It combines so many styles that I love. It’s dub, it’s Kraut, it’s repetitive, psychedelic but yet super musical. I came across it, by being a huge This Heat fan, the former group of vocalist Charles Bullen. After the collapse of This Heat he collabed with drummer Julius Samuel to record this fantastic record. As it was a very sought-after collectors item, I could only listen to it on Youtube, the record billed 200+ Euro on Discogs. Luckily one of my favourite reissue labels, Light In The Attic repressed it a few years ago and I could finally enjoy it on vinyl. Hope you have fun with it as much as I do, I listened to it to death really!”
