A Track A Day: Juan Ramos
With the current circumstances and the weird, turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite track or an album for these isolated days, and share it with us along with a photo. A track a day keeps the bad vibes away. Stay safe.
Today we welcome Berlin’s own Juan Ramos of Discodromo’s infamous queer party Cocktail D’Amore and one half of GreenVision, who was kind enough to contribute his great track “Blue Dunes” to our “Late Summer” compilation Vol.9. Having already wowed us with his “Oxford House” EP on Lovefingers’ ESP institute, one of our best releases of 2020, our beloved DJ and producer shares with us a favourite record, Arca’s “KiCK i”.
In his own words: “Not since my days of being in punk bands have a felt the sort of raw excitement that I experienced when listening to Arca’s ‘KiCK i’, it’s been on pretty consistent rotation in the last few months. It’s a perfect example of the furthest corners that so called pop music can go to. As someone who’s music often goes into this territory its great to hear another Latinx artist taking the sounds of our shared culture bending them into something new and alien.”
