A Track A Day: Alinka
With the current circumstances and the turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite track or an album for these weird days, and share it with us along with a photo. A track a day keeps the bad vibes away.
Next in line on our “A Track A Day” series is our beloved Ukraine-born, Chicago-raised and Berlin-based DJ and producer Alinka, who recently graced us with her great remix of The Juan MacLean’s “I Can’t Explain”. With a unique power both behind the decks and in the studio, Alinka is an artist with a lifelong passion for dance music. The incredibly talented producer has dropped a string of quality releases on labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, and Twirl Recordings, who runs alongside Shaun J. Wright, where she releases her own music as well as artists such as Spencer Parker and Virginia. Alinka shares with us one of her favourite records, Nirvana’s 1994 album “MTV Unplugged in New York”.
In her own words: “I was a teenager in the 90’s so I grew up on Nirvana, they were my favorite band growing up. I really love the unplugged album and it’s been great to have a bit of nostalgia during the pandemic.”
