Shy Layers:
“No Road” Video
A collaged environment of whimsy and wonder.
Following the blissful single “Gateway”, Atlanta-based artist Shy Layers has shared a new track “No Road”, along with a self-directed video by project front-man JD Walsh, taken from his forthcoming sophomore LP “Midnight Marker” on Beats In Space.
In his video for “No Road”, Shy Layers crafts a collaged environment of whimsy and wonder. “I was inspired by experimental animation from all eras – Harry Smith, Robert Breer, Suzan Pitt, just to name a few. There are some elements in the video that have shown up previously in my work: the animated outlines of TV weather reporters are decoupled from their original contexts, creating repeating gestures,” says JD Walsh.
Shy Layers’ “Midnight Marker” arrives on May 15th in vinyl, CD and digital forms via Beats In Space.
