Back in August, Classixx, the Los Angeles-based duo of Tyler Blake and Michael David, dropped an instrumental version of their delicious new single “Whatever I Want”, their first original material in over two years. And now, they’ve teamed up with rapper T-Pain to bring us a vocal version of the track, which also features the West Los Angeles Children’s Choir. In their own words: “We’ve been T-Pain fans for a long time, but vividly remember hearing the instrumental of “Can’t Believe It” and feeling kindred in some way. We’re still reeling from the fact that this song came together, it was really fun to make it!”
Classixx are hard at work on their forthcoming album, the follow-up to 2013’s brilliant debut album “Hanging Gardens”, which is expected to arrive next year. We can’t wait.
The single “Whatever I Want” is out now digitally via Innovative Leisure. Get it here.
