After a busy year that saw him release a string of quality EPs and remixes, including the “Los Pasos Perdidos” EP and the infectious “Clocks” via his regular home Public Possession, Swedish-born, Berlin-based producer, DJ and Late Night City Tracks label founder Johan Norling, aka DJ City, continues his fine run of form with a great new EP entitled “The Beloved One”.
Consisting of four original cuts, the “The Beloved One” EP finds DJ City in such fine form, delivering once again a perfectly crafted collection of deeply melodic dance tunes, an ideal soundtrack for your late-night rides. Before it drops, we are treated to a stream of the record’s first track, the piano-led house affair, “Mark”, and it’s exactly what you’d expect from DJ City: emotive, captivating, melancholy house filled with atmospheric textures, driving beats and spoken-word style vocals.
