9th House: “Catching A Whisper” EP
London producer returns with a great EP of emotively charged electronica.
9th House invites us to join him on an esoteric journey.
London-based artist 9th House is a versatile producer whose been making some serious waves over the past few months, dropping a string of quality releases for labels such as Shall Not Fade, Dusky’s 17 Steps imprint and Cinthie’s 803 Crystal Grooves Collective Cuts, amongst others.
On his latest offering, the “Catching A Whisper” EP for W&O Street Tracks, the prolific producer showcases a different side of his unique sound, something more esoteric and emotive. Taking inspiration from artists like The Pixies, Massive Attack, Moby, LCD Soundsystem and Pet Shop Boys, he crafts two tracks of emotively charged electronica, “Catching A Whisper” and “Natural Consequence”, which sees him using his own voice and experimenting with guitars.
Filled with hushed vocals, rasping synth lines and galactic beats, the record’s title track is a perfect slice of emotive electronics. Accompanying track, “Natural Consequence”, in contrast, is more reticent, as distorted and angular guitar slaps against soft pianos and soothing bells.
With the “Catching A Whisper” EP, 9th House delivers a record that will soothe your soul.
The “Catching A Whisper” is out now via Waze & Odyssey’s imprint W&O Street Tracks.
