A Track A Day:
COMA
With the current circumstances and the weird, turbulent times all over the globe, we asked our friends to choose a favourite track or an album for these isolated days, and share it with us along with a photo. A track a day keeps the bad vibes away. Stay safe.
Next in line on our “A Track A Day” series is COMA, the Cologne-based electronic pop formed by Georg Conrad and Marius Bubat. Fusing a pop sensibility with dance music’s communal properties, COMA create music rich in melody and often melancholy. The pair’s repertoire occupies an emotionally-driven corner of the electronic music spectrum, where dynamic soundscapes collide with honest lyrics. COMA’s Marius Bubat shares with us a favourite Depeche Mode album.
In Marius Bubat’s own words: “It’s a good time to delve deep into your record collection and discover great stuff from the past. We both really love the early Depeche Mode albums, especially their debut ‘Speak & Spell’. Released before both of us were born it’s still the perfect example for the use of electronic instruments in an exciting way as a band. If you remain unconvinced, check out this wild live video of ‘Just can’t get enough’ from 1981.”
