Elado: “Blame”

Israeli DJ and collector Elado makes his debut on Brooklyn’s Razor-N-Tape with a new 12-inch of impossibly rare edit heat. This record is the first essential add of 2021.

A relative newcomer to the scene, Elado made some waves recently with his gorgeous lost folk-disco frugger Hipos on Eddie C’s Red Motorbike imprint, and he’s clearly no novice when it comes to digging as this exceptional pack of tunes shows. With rarefied material ranging from Africa, India and the Mideast, Elado works these four tunes with a careful editor’s touch, nipping and tucking only where necessary to let the incredible source selections shine through, but rendered eminently DJ-friendly. One of our favourite cuts is “Blame”, a splendid disco rework that we can’t get enough of. Play it loud.
