UK cosmic-disco specialists and avid vinyl collectors Psychemagik have returned with “Magik Sunset”, the final chapter in their excellent “Magik” compilation series, which comes split into two parts. Once again, the unstoppable duo of Danny McLewin and Tom Coveney are digging deep into their endless collection of vinyls for those obscure and long-lost Balearic gems. Picking up from where the previous “Magik Sunrise” compilation left off, “Magik Sunset” is yet another quality selection of tracks mainly released in extremely small numbers, sometimes only on private presses and only reaching specific parts of the world.
While the sublime Part One is still on repeat mode on our car stereo, Psychemagik are getting ready to drop the “Magik Sunset Part Two”, a selection of 13 tracks that ranges through the ’70s and ’80s covering soul, funk, disco and folk. This one will surely be a damn fine soundtrack for your late summer car rides. As with previous albums all tracks have been mastered from original vinyl to get the best possible sound quality. Pure magik!
