French producer and Discodeine member Pilooski returns with his new “Isola” EP that pays tribute to Wolff Schoemaker’s 1933 masterpiece Villa Isola, an art-deco building located in the northern suburbs of Bandung, Indonesia. It’s a delicate record of four exotic and minimalist spoken word pieces, an imaginary soundtrack for Villa Isola’s projection room. The EP features guest contributions from Pulp’s Jarvis Cocker, Judah Warsky, Narumi Hérisson (of Tristesse Contemporaine), and French writer Simon Liberati. Here’s a track from the forthcoming record, “Completely Sun”, featuring Jarvis Cocker reading an extract from Carl Gustav Jung’s “The Red Book”.
Pilooski’s new “Isola” EP will arrive in both vinyl and digital formats on October 26th via Dirty/Kompakt. Stream the whole thing here and pre-order your copy here. Update: Watch the video for “Completely Sun”, directed by Dodi El Sherbini.
